A common term recognized in the funeral industry by most funeral homes, although each may differ in their description or offerings of "Traditional Service." Cobb Funeral Home's "traditional funeral services" includes all items below marked with ♦.

♦Basic Services of Funeral Director & Staff
Our charge includes funeral counseling, necessary arrangements, and recording vital statistics, securing permits, filing and obtaining death certificates and other forms and claims, preparation of necessary notices and coordination of service plans with parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving of remains.)

Documentation Fee for Pre-Need Transfers
Includes any and all research, documentation, counseling and filing of all necessary paperwork in transferring pre-arrangements to another facility.

♦Embalming
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home
This charge includes local removal of remains, basic services of staff, necessary authorizations, embalming and local transportation to airport (100 mile radius). This does not include shipping charges or the use of staff for visitation or other rites or ceremonies.

Receiving Remains from Another Funeral Home
This charge includes basic services of staff, local transportation to the funeral home, and local use of casket coach for transportation to cemetery or crematory. This fee does not include the use of facilities or staff for any visitation or funeral ceremony.

Direct Cremation
Our charge for a direct cremation includes local removal, refrigeration charge (24 hours), care of remains, transportation to crematory, crematory charges, basic services of staff and authorizations.

This fee does not include ceremonies, visitation or cemetery charges.

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are made of fiberboard material. Any wood casket may be used for cremation.

Immediate Burial
Our charge for an immediate burial (excluding ceremony, visitation and cemetery charges) includes local removal, care of remains, basic services of staff, authorizations and casket coach to the local area cemetery.

The "Traditional Funeral Service Grouping" includes basic services of funeral director and staff, embalming, other preparation of the body, use of facilities and staff for viewing/visitation, funeral ceremony at our facility or a church, graveside committal ceremony, lead car, pallbearer vehicle (driver not included), family vehicles, hearse and utility vehicle (all within 25 mile radius and only if needed), memorial package and use of reception home if available.

Package A: Traditional Graveside Service
The "Traditional Graveside Grouping" includes basic services of funeral director and staff, embalming, other preparation of the body, use of facilities and staff for viewing/visitation, graveside ceremony, lead car, pallbearer vehicle (driver not included), family vehicles, hearse and utility vehicle (all within a 25 mile radius and only if needed), memorial package and use of reception home if available.
